Job Title:

Master/PhD Student in Soft Robotics and Reinforcement Learning + Foundation Models

Financial support is available. See Benefits below.

Job Description:

We are seeking highly motivated and talented students to join our research group at the University of Tokyo. The successful candidate will be enrolled as a master's or PhD student in our program, with the opportunity to work on exciting projects at the intersection of soft robotics, digital fabrication, human-computer interaction, reinforcement learning, and foundation models.

Research Focus:

Our research group focuses on designing, fabricating, and controlling soft robots that can interact with their environment in a more flexible and adaptive manner. To achieve this goal, we employ a range of techniques, including reinforcement learning, deep learning, and traditional control methods. We are particularly interested in exploring the potential of foundation models for modeling and controlling complex soft robotic systems.

Responsibilities:

As a member of our research group, you will be expected to:

  1. Conduct original research under the guidance of the team.
  2. Design, develop, and test novel soft robotic systems using reinforcement learning and foundation models.
  3. Analyze and interpret experimental results, and draw conclusions about their implications for the field.
  4. Collaborate with other group members.
  5. Participate in regular meetings, conferences, and discussions to stay updated on the latest research developments.
